Or @mention , are you referring to using the application with a single account while sharing the credentials with the others? That would work with the OSS refinery! (you would just lose the multi-user integrations like inter-annotator agreement and gold-star labeling etc.)

Yeah sorry, one shared account is what I am trying to do. However, I haven't been able to set it up, cause I cannot access the UI remotely as a mentioned above. It is not a firewall issue or something like that i think. Maybe you could suggest a solution on which ports/services I should expose or forward to my local machine ?

Unfortunately it is not that easy I think. This question has been brought up before and one of my dev colleagues (thx Simon!) said this about it:

unfortunately, we did not come up with an easily usable solution because of our setup configuration. In the refinery's files there are often hardcoded links to localhost, which you can just search for & replace (e.g. "Replace in Files" in VSC) with some other IP and then again start the app with the starting script. For us, this worked in our office network and we could access the app from different machines but we could not access the app from the outside most certainly because of router settings. We will soon release the demo and trial stage of our app which then can easily be shared.

So as of now, there is no easy solution. But as he also mentioned, we will release the playground soon, a demo stage where you can play around with the application! There is also going to be a trial stage where you can try out all the additional features our hosted version has to offer.

For now if you want to host refinery yourself and share it with colleagues to try it out, it would probably be the best to be physically together on a single machine. If that is no option and sharing your screen via zoom is not immersive enough, you could also try refinery locally and share your project export with your colleagues so they can locally work on your project. Not the cleanest way, but might be enough to get a sense for this nice tool!

    Hope this answered your question!

Yes it does answer my question thoroughly enough, thank you. It is unfortunate that forwarding it from a remote server isn't a option, but I will gladly wait for a future release that would take that into account. You have done a great job with the tool until now, especially UI/UX-wise. I only need the tool (for now) for text and entity labelling, so I guess I could give it a shot with local installations and project sharing. Again thank you and cheers for your immediate response.
